- NEW BERLIN’S HOUSING PROBLEM
New Berlin was built in the ranch-and-split-level boom. Insulation wasn’t invited.
Drive any New Berlin subdivision and you’ll see it: block after block of solid ’60s and
’70s ranches, split-levels, and tri-levels. Great bones, great lots — and wall cavities that
got a thin batt at best, stuffed around wiring and plumbing, compressed and gapped
from day one and settling ever since.
Split-levels have their own special misery: half-buried lower levels, rooms on three
different floors, and a thermostat that can only be right on one of them. If this is your
house, you already know:
- The lower level is a walk-in cooler and the upper bedrooms are a sauna — or the reverse, depending on the season
- The A/C runs all day in July and the house still won’t drop below 79
- The furnace can’t hold 65 on a January night
- Pipes on an exterior wall that freeze every cold snap
- Frost on the inside of the walls on the coldest mornings
Your walls are the biggest surface of your home. We fix that — and prove it — in a day or two.
- How It Works
Most New Berlin homes: done in one day; two-story or 1,400+ sq ft: two.
- 01 — MEASURE
Measure
Blower door test first — a hard number on how much air your home leaks. Thermal imaging shows exactly where.
- 02 — ACCESS
Access
A course of siding comes off — or dimesized holes through mortar joints on brick homes. Nothing gets torn open.
- 03 — FILL
Fill
Injection foam fills every cavity completely and cures in place — it never settles or sags.
- 04 — PROVE IT
Prove It
Siding back on, final thermal scan, and a second blower door test. Before and after, side by side. Our tests routinely measure at least 25% less air leakage — and up to 50%.

- WHY YOUR NEIGHBORS PICK US
Owned by a neighbor, not a franchise.
Cozy Walls is owned by Erik Hoffman — a retired Army Master Sergeant with 29 years of
service, a standard of strict attention to detail, and a shop just up the road in Waukesha.
Our crew has insulated over 200 Wisconsin homes, and when you call for an estimate,
the person at your door is Erik — the owner, not a salesman.
Every job is backed by our Lifetime-of-the-Home, Transferable Warranty — the
foam is warranted never to settle, sag, or lose performance for as long as your house
stands, and it transfers to the next owner if you sell.

- NEW BERLIN FAQ
Local questions, straight answers
Do you charge a trip fee to come out to New Berlin?
Never — you’re minutes from our
Waukesha shop. Estimates are free, and there’s no travel charge.
Does foam work on a split-level or tri-level?
It’s one of the best candidates there is.
Split-levels leak air at every level change, and foam-filled walls even out those
temperature swings between floors better than any thermostat war ever will.
My lower level is half below grade. Do you insulate that?
We fill the framed wall
cavities above grade on every level. The exposed band of lower-level wall is often one of
the leakiest parts of a split-level, and it gets the same complete fill as the rest of the
house.
Will you handle the Focus on Energy paperwork?
Every page of it. You just cash the
check.
